Andy's Mission Scripture

Andy's Mission Scripture:

"I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy."

Still thriving, but apparently losing his English!!

Oi!!!! Minha amada família e  meus queridos amigos!

First i want to say that im the luckiest missionary in the world to have a Mom like Dana and to have a sister like Madison and to have such a thougtful sister like Morgan (who thought of me way out there in Africa!) I recieved 12 letters last week and a package that will be excruciantingly hard to wait for to open on the 18th!!! i havnt opened it yet i swear!  I cant tell you how much they mean to me...thank you Morgan for the awesome necklace...I dont know what it is but i think it looks like a cat and that goes with my name here...Elder Meow...I never really explained well to you guys that everyone says my name real funny so it sounds like everyone is saying ``Meow`` when they call me! Its pretty funny...ANYWAYS Thank you so much for the letters...Expect a letter coming at ya morgan and to all that have written to me...The highlight of this week was yesterday as Elder Kutomi and I were invited to talk to the group in Goianinha that is about a twenty minute half an hour drive from Canguaretama. It was one of the most humbling and spiritual meetings i have experienced in my life. The group unites in a small public school and we had only two meetings as there are not enough people to have the normal sunday school class...I just want to say that blessing the sacrament and giving a talk in this small humble classroom was one of the most spirtual experiences of my life that i will never forget...seeing the faith of these people that have truly sacriced to be there really humbled me and made me feel so ungrateful for the church in my life. It has always been so easy for me to just get in the car and arrive in a beuatiful church building but like that back home i never truly valorized it...Here people from a place called Sitio Miranda which is about a hour drive from the school and is located way out in the farmlands from Goaninha so its not exactly paved smooth roads...These people pay for a small little van to arrive to unite in this school to hear the gospel and partake of the sacrament....For about 5 months i have been here but i have not had the opportunity to meet these people until yesterday...I thank the Lord for the opportuniy we had to meet them and to give a talk there and here in Canguaretama. I felt like one the first members of the church in one the very first meetings...I know i felt the spirit so strongly due to the faith of these people....Im so grateful for the opportuity to meet such faithful people through this amazing gospel. I know that this Church is true and Im so grateful to be a missionary even though it is so tough to be away from family....I love you all and be grateful a valorize what you have...Until wed of next week! Transfers are on thier way....I think im next unfortunalty....I have grown to love Canguaretama so much.... Abraçao, Elder M. Howell
